in the comic, Doomsday destroyed the Justice League while fighting Superman. He did fight the justice league before Superman arrived and dispatched most of them, but a lot of them were still around when Superman arrived.

Actually I think that in the book and comic, Doomsday fought and destroyed the Justice League before facing Superman.

This fight was great but the comic book fight they had was 10 times better. IMO they should have broke this movie into 3 parts like the comic book. Part 1 should have focused on the fight between doomsday and superman. Part 2 the backlash of superman not being around. Part 3 The return...

IMO Superman landed in the Metropolis only because the creators of the cartoon decided that everything should have ended in a very dramatical way. What are the most essential parts of the drama? I think that they are tears, pity and sorrow. All of those are perfectly shown in that fight between Doomsday and Superman. People just HAD to see their beloved superhero dying... the viewers had to feel sadness, and that was achieved brilliantly. This scene was very sad indeed.

I'm wondering... couldn't Superman do that in the first place? I mean take Doomsday out of the city, do the "up&down meteorite" thing and "land" out of metropilis? it's Superman, they could figh in the artic where no one was arround while reentering earths atmosphere...

What was the original version? I never found out as to what he was since there were mulitple different scenarios such as a CADMUS project, a ex war world alien thats hinted too and then ofc old superman lovers can probably go LolLuthor as well.
